Norwalk, Conn. (April 19, 2007) –This year at INTERPHEX, the world’s largest and most comprehensive pharmaceutical conference and exhibition, is proving to be bigger and better than ever before. With a record number of exhibits and nearly 1,000 participating exhibitors, the event is truly not to be missed in 2007. Held from April 24-26 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, this year’s sold-out exhibition space covers the entire top and bottom floors, showcasing new technologies in a variety of industries ranging from contamination control and disposable technologies to RFID and packaging innovations.

In tune with the increasingly global nature of the pharmaceutical market, the president of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Mr. Subodh Priolkar, will deliver an insightful address on the Indian pharmaceutical industry. The free session is titled Credible India-the Next Pharmaceutical Superpower? Mr. Priolkar’s speech takes place on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 10:15am-11:15am in Hall A.

Mr. Priolkar will also be participating in a panel discussion with Dr. Shaiekh Waheed, Chairman of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and Mr. Ajit Singh, Chairman of ACG Worldwide, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical equipment manufacturers. The panel discussion will focus on a unique perspective of the South Asian pharmaceutical industry.

  • Speech by Mr. Ruediger Dorn, director of the worldwide life sciences group for Microsoft Corporation

Mr. Dorn will be speaking on Real Time Pharmaceutical Plant Floor Visibility on April 24, 2007 from 2:00pm-3:00pm as part of the IT track. He is also participating in a panel discussion on Tuesday, April 24 from 9am-11:30am called Operational and Business Excellence: How Do You Measure Where You Are and What Measures Can You Make to Improve Efficiencies? Mr. Dorn is responsible for developing and implementing Microsoft’s global strategy including the prioritization of industry solutions and their alignment to Microsoft’s worldwide partner, regional and local ecosystems.

  • BioExecutive Roundtable

On Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 8:00am-12:30pm, the INTERPHEX BioExecutiveInternational Roundtable will be held, bringing together executives to discuss the future of the biologic and pharmaceutical industries. This event will allow companies to strategically align, partner and work with others to assure the success of their business goals.

  • Life Sciences Career Fair

In partnership with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the International Society for Technical Professionals (ISPE), a career section will provide attendees with the opportunity to meet representatives from a broad range of companies including pharmaceutical and biotech companies, industry exhibitors and recruiters specialized in the life sciences.

  • Package Design Showcase

Packaging is fundamental to the way that goods are marketed in the cosmetic, medical and pharmaceutical industry. This showcase, sponsored by Package Design magazine, will display samples of award winning packages of all kinds commonly found in today’s marketplace including single unit dose, glass, flexible packaging and more.
